Phytochemical Screening and In Vitro Antibacterial Activity of Methanol Extract of Thymelaea hirsuta and Anacyclus pyrethrum from Algeria against Multi-Drug Resistant Bacteria Associated with Skin Infections

Medicinal plants constitute a potential source of bioactive molecules which can provide new antimicrobial agents. This study aims to evaluate the antibacterial activity against multidrug resistant bacteria associated with skin infections and screen phytochemical composition Thymelaea hirsuta Anacyclus pyrethrum from Algeria. For this purpose, four multi-drug were isolated pus samples compared Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 25923, Escherichia coli 25922 Pseudomonas aeruginosa 27853 used. The methanol extracts both evaluated at two different concentrations (200 mg/mL 100 mg/mL) using agar disc diffusion method revealed that all strains tested showed susceptibility extract values recorded for inhibition zone diameters ranging 11.00 25.00 mm concentrations: 200 mg/mL. However, an only clinical isolates (Staphylococcus 1 mg/mL, mg/mL; 2 ATCC259 concentration mg/mL). screening presence flavonoids, polyphenols, saponins, tannins, quinones terpanoids; absence alkaloids anthraquinones in extracts. coumarin was found hirsuta. finding high efficiency mainly staphylococcus aureus.
